We fish for all five species of wild salmon on the F/V Lofoten and offer the four most highly valued types of salmon for sale. They are king (Chinook) salmon, sockeye (red) salmon, coho (silver) salmon and bright chum (keta). Fresh salmon is available from June until October and frozen salmon is available throughout the year. The following chart explains some differences between the four wild Alaska salmon species:

We are able to offer our superior wild Alaskan salmon in a variety
of fresh and frozen product forms such as headed and gutted,
filleted, portioned and smoked strips. Our frozen products are
vacuum-sealed to seal in flavor and blast frozen to stop the
aging process thus providing you the freshest-frozen salmon
available. Frozen salmon treated this way and stored at low
temperatures of -10 degrees can last up to 12 months.

In order to ensure a high quality, frozen salmon product, we
prefer you buy your salmon by the box. That amount of frozen
density assures your salmon will still be frozen when it arrives
at your airport. Each box holds between 40-50 pounds of
salmon. Salmon types can be mixed to fill your box. We ship our superior wild Alaskan salmon almost anywhere via Alaska Airlines Cargo to your nearest airport or via UPS to your door. We prefer to ship to your nearest airport because it takes less time thus assuring a more dependable delivery; it is also less expensive.

The price charts below show our current wild Alaskan salmon prices per pound according to weight and species.
